Commercial Credit Senior Associate (Fintech)

What you will do

• Underwrite new commercial credit requests and material loan modifications from deal screening through approval and the full loan lifecycle.
• Manage commercial loan portfolios through annual reviews, interim updates, covenant monitoring, problem-loan management, and early-warning surveillance.
• Analyze financial statements, tax returns, due diligence, credit reports, appraisals, industry research, and peer data.
• Prepare credit analyses, risk ratings, cash-flow and collateral schedules, covenant sensitivity calculations, financial models, and guarantor analyses.
• Recommend transaction structures, terms, conditions, controls, collateral, guarantors, and risk mitigants.
• Partner with relationship managers, credit teams, clients, and approval committees while escalating risk and compliance issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field, plus 5 years of experience in commercial credit, public accounting, financial statement preparation and analysis, or related financial analysis; alternatively, 9 years of combined higher education and work experience including 5 relevant years.
• Strong analytical skills, including financial modeling, credit metrics, financial ratios, data analysis, and trend analysis.
• Emerging proficiency in legal documentation, structural analysis, and independent transaction structuring.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, accuracy, organization, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, lead transaction execution with a Commercial Credit Analyst, and build customer relationships.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Nice to have

• Experience with Capital IQ, FactSet, or Bloomberg.
