Supplier Quality Principal (Electromechanical Hardware)

Location: Remote from Guangdong, China; regular on-site travel across APAC is required

What you will do

• Lead technically rigorous audits of component suppliers across Asia, assessing process control, measurement capability, and production and inspection reliability.
• Own complex supplier quality problems, leading on-site failure analysis, risk assessment, root cause investigation, and corrective action.
• Conduct new-supplier pre-qualification audits and periodic surveillance audits, and improve hirify.global's audit methodology and assessment criteria.
• Implement and maintain quality assurance specifications, communicate design changes, and ensure affected components are revalidated before production release.
• Support supplier-side part approvals, track open quality issues and corrective actions, and collaborate on failures found during contract-manufacturer incoming inspection.
• Build supplier capability by coaching engineering teams, developing structured improvement plans, and maintaining strong technical relationships.

Requirements

• 15+ years of supplier quality or manufacturing quality experience with complex electromechanical hardware.
• Deep manufacturing and process engineering knowledge, including process variation, process control, measurement systems, and inspection methods.
• Exceptional audit capability and strong first-principles root cause analysis skills.
• Experience developing QA specifications and assessing whether they are clear, measurable, and correctly implemented.
• High proficiency in English and Mandarin, including written, verbal, and reading communication.
• Willingness to travel regularly across APAC, with a significant portion of time spent on-site at suppliers. Autonomy, sound escalation judgment, and the ability to work directly and constructively with suppliers are required.
