Associate Director - Technology (Java)

Location: Hybrid, with an expectation to work from the St. Petersburg, Florida corporate office 3 days per week.

What you will do

• Manage and coordinate IT functions across application development, infrastructure, operations, end-user support, data management, and security.
• Lead multiple teams of developers and analysts delivering the roadmap for Client Onboarding and Enterprise Business Services & Platforms.
• Design, build, modify, and maintain high-performance applications and API-driven platforms using Java technologies.
• Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements, design pragmatic IT solutions, and prioritize technology projects.
• Drive team development, engineering best practices, service-level objectives, resource planning, and process maturity across multiple locations.
• Coordinate production support across multiple time zones, including nights, weekends, and on-call responsibilities.

Requirements

• 10–15 years of general experience and 6–10 years of management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree required in Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Hands-on technical leadership experience with Java, full-stack development, Spring, SQL, integration frameworks, microservices, automation, cloud technologies, and solution architecture.
• Experience across all phases of the software development lifecycle, with strong people management and business collaboration skills.
• Proven ability to lead and scale AI adoption within Agile/DevOps teams and measure improvements in velocity, cycle time, and quality.
• This role is not eligible for work visa sponsorship, either currently or in the future.

Nice to have

• Experience building scalable Java/Spring Boot API platforms integrated with decision engines.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP and DevOps practices including CI/CD, Jenkins, and Git.
• Experience building user-centric, API-driven platforms and mentoring teams across decisioning, API, and data platforms.
