Treasury Management, Card Technology, Engineering Director (Fintech)

Location: Buffalo, New York, United States of America. Hybrid work with relocation to Buffalo required.

Salary: $201,200–$335,300 annual USD

What you will do

• Define and execute the technology roadmap for Treasury Management, Corporate Card, Merchant Card, and digital commercial banking platforms.
• Lead approximately 60 engineers and engineering leaders building, integrating, and supporting critical Commercial Banking systems.
• Drive modernization of legacy platforms through cloud-enabled technologies, improved straight-through processing, digital capabilities, and AI delivery practices.
• Partner with Commercial Banking, Institutional Client Services, Retail Banking, and Small Business Banking stakeholders on product roadmaps and investment priorities.
• Oversee delivery timelines, budgets, resources, performance, reliability, scalability, risk, compliance, and governance.
• Manage strategic vendors and develop a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, inclusion, and professional growth.

Requirements

• Minimum 15 years of combined higher education and/or work experience, including at least 4 years in engineering and/or architecture and 11 years in large technology management or program leadership.
• At least 5 years of managerial experience leading technical teams and multiple business-domain teams.
• Deep knowledge of Treasury Management, Payments, Card Technology, or Digital Banking platforms.
• Experience delivering complex, multi-system initiatives using SDLC, architecture, integration patterns, and Agile methodologies.
• Strong stakeholder influence, communication, executive presentation, and problem-solving skills.
• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Nice to have

• Financial services experience, particularly in Commercial Banking or Payments.
• Experience supporting Commercial, Retail, and Small Business lines of business.
• Experience with cloud, APIs, microservices, DevOps, and Scaled Agile Framework.
