Associate Director, Software Engineering (AI)

Location: Hybrid, with 3 to 4 days per week in the office. Candidates must be located in or willing to relocate to Louisville, KY or Tampa, FL.

Salary: $156,600–$215,400 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus incentive plan.

What you will do

• Lead and develop software engineering teams responsible for enterprise applications, databases, data platforms, and API services.
• Own technology roadmaps and oversee application and technology lifecycles, including development, modernization, support, and retirement.
• Drive delivery of scalable, secure, highly available, and reliable technology solutions aligned with business objectives.
• Manage resource planning, staffing, skill development, budgets, vendors, and technology investments across multiple teams.
• Partner with business leaders, product teams, architects, and enterprise stakeholders on application, data, and integration strategies.
• Drive automation, cloud adoption, modernization, engineering excellence, and the effective use of AI-powered engineering tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, application development, data engineering, or technology delivery.
• 3+ years of experience managing software engineering teams.
• Experience with enterprise applications, relational or cloud-based databases, and API or integration platforms.
• Strong understanding of enterprise data management, API design and governance, system integration patterns, software engineering best practices, and lifecycle management.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in a relevant technical or business discipline.
• Experience with enterprise data platforms, cloud-native architectures, API management platforms, and modern integration technologies.
• Experience with Azure, AWS, Databricks, data warehousing, and large-scale data management.
• Experience in healthcare, insurance, or other highly regulated industries.
• Experience leading digital transformation, cloud migration, or enterprise modernization initiatives.
