Director - Wealth Management Engineering (Fintech)

Location: On site in Austin, TX or Southlake, TX, United States

Salary: USD $221,000–$289,000 per year, plus bonus or incentive opportunities.

What you will do

• Define and execute technology strategies, investment decisions, and multi-year roadmaps for wealth management platforms.
• Lead multiple engineering managers and software development teams delivering mission-critical, advisor-facing, and client-facing capabilities.
• Drive cloud-native architecture, DevSecOps, CI/CD automation, platform engineering, and continuous improvement.
• Lead modernization using containerized, microservices-based, and event-driven architectures.
• Guide the adoption of Generative AI, Agentic AI, and other emerging technology capabilities.
• Build engineering leadership, succession planning, organizational effectiveness, and a culture of innovation and accountability.

Requirements

• 12+ years of progressive software engineering and technology leadership experience.
• 5+ years leading engineering managers and large-scale software engineering organizations.
• Experience in wealth management, financial advisory, brokerage, custody, trust services, or fintech.
• Experience delivering enterprise-scale distributed, highly scalable, cloud-hosted, containerized, and microservices-based applications.
• Strong knowledge of DevSecOps, CI/CD, site reliability, software quality engineering, Java, Spring Framework, APIs, messaging and streaming platforms, and relational databases.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience, with strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with advisor platforms, digital client experiences, SAFe, cloud transformation, and large-scale modernization programs.
• Knowledge of Generative AI, AI agents, Model Context Protocol, and AI-enabled engineering practices.
• Experience balancing innovation, operational stability, regulatory requirements, and risk management.
