What you will do
- Own mechanical design of aerospace and space products from initial concept through requirements definition, detailed design, manufacturing, testing, qualification, and in-orbit support.
- Design electronics packaging and mechanical interfaces for spacecraft and electronic assemblies.
- Perform thermal, shock, vibration, stress, and finite element simulations and analyses.
- Apply precision machining, GD&T, EMI/EMC mitigation, and cost-analysis principles to validate and optimize designs.
- Present engineering design reviews to customers and executive stakeholders and contribute to proposal writing.
- Mentor junior mechanical engineers and collaborate closely with electrical engineering teams on PCBAs and CCAs.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs or masterβs degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
- 9 years of industry experience designing and analyzing electronics packaging, including thermal, vibration, and stress dynamics calculations and simulations.
- Expertise in aerospace and space-industry design, development, and qualification.
- Expert-level experience with electronics assemblies and printed circuit board assemblies, including collaboration with electrical engineers.
- Expert-level proficiency with professional mechanical CAD and FEA tools; SolidWorks and Ansys are preferred.
- Experience with CNC manufacturing, EMI/EMC mitigation techniques, and strong written and verbal communication.
