Design Engineer High Voltage Systems (Automotive)

Location: Hengelo, Netherlands; full-time onsite role

Base salary: €64,700–€88,990 per year

What you will do

• Design and develop high-voltage power distribution systems for fully electric powertrains and zero-emission vehicles.
• Translate customer requirements into robust, manufacturable, and cost-effective series-production solutions.
• Contribute across the product lifecycle, from concept and feasibility through design validation and mass production.
• Maintain product documentation, including drawings and specifications.
• Work directly with customers to define product requirements, schedules, and budgets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional and international project teams to improve engineering design quality and performance.

Requirements

• University degree, such as a bachelor's degree, or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Strong mechanical engineering knowledge, including materials, mechanics, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, corrosion research, and welding characterization.
• Advanced knowledge of basic electrical circuits, microelectronic assembly, statistical methods, process control fundamentals, and product testing.
• Familiarity with welding, brazing, soldering, adhesive bonding, machining, stamping, molding, forming, and other core manufacturing processes.
• Strong communication, organization, planning, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing tasks.
• Team-oriented approach, integrity, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
