Principal RF Engineer I (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Design RF circuits, modules, and systems through all phases of product development.
• Define RF system requirements and architectures, select components, and develop detailed designs.
• Create block diagrams, schematics, PCB layouts and routing, simulations, and test designs.
• Develop phased-array communication systems including RF front ends, frequency converters, synthesizers, filters, beamformers, power dividers, and phased-array antennas.
• Support manufacturing, testing, qualification, and in-orbit operations of aerospace products.
• Present engineering design reviews to customers and executives, contribute to proposals, and mentor engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution; a Master of Science is desired.
• At least 9 years of industry experience designing and analyzing RF electronics and systems.
• Expert proficiency with CST, ADS, and Altium or comparable professional simulation and EDA tools.
• Extensive hands-on experience with vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and oscilloscopes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work on-site in Cambridge, United Kingdom; security and export-control restrictions may limit eligibility based on nationality, place of birth, or country of residence.

• Python or other programming experience.
• Aerospace electronics design, development, and qualification experience.
• Worst-case circuit analysis, failure mode and criticality analysis, and reliability analysis.
• Antenna design experience.
• EMI/EMC design and mitigation experience.
