Lead RF Design Engineer

Location: Global Innovation and Technology Centre, Melbourn, Hertfordshire, United Kingdom

Full-time, onsite role. The position requires the ability to gain UK SC security clearance; in practice, this requires sole UK nationality.

What you will do

• Design, simulate, optimize, and test RF circuits including amplifiers, oscillators, and mixers.
• Design and measure antennas, including antenna patterns and gain tests.
• Develop solutions involving software-defined radio, high-speed networking, hardsec, and wireless communication systems.
• Apply Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LTE, 5G, modulation, and multiplexing concepts to client projects.
• Deliver designs across the full product lifecycle, from concept generation through product release, service, and mass production.
• Work hands-on with interdisciplinary teams, explain complex engineering concepts, and support the development of less experienced engineers.

Requirements

• Degree in electronic engineering or a related subject.
• Experience with RF circuit design and testing, high-frequency PCB layout, and laboratory equipment including spectrum analysers, network analysers, and signal generators.
• Experience with RF simulation tools such as ADS, HFSS, CST, or MATLAB.
• Good experience in digital electronics and embedded systems engineering.
• Understanding of UK, EU, and US regulatory requirements and experience designing for compliance with relevant standards.
• Ability to gain UK SC security clearance; in practice, sole UK nationality is required.

Hiring process

• Initial call with a technology recruiter.
• Two 60-minute competency or technical interviews, covering both formats.
• Final 60-minute meeting with a PA leader, including a mini case study and discussion of client-centricity.
