Electronics Engineer - Consultant

What you will do

• Explore pioneering concepts with scientists, engineers, and designers in multidisciplinary teams.
• Capture requirements and contribute to electronics design, development, documentation, testing, and delivery.
• Design complex electronics hardware, schematics, PCBs, and system interfaces.
• Develop and test proof-of-concept solutions and working prototypes.
• Contribute to FPGA firmware, embedded software, DSP, signal processing, communications, and networking projects.

Requirements

• Relevant degree and a track record of academic excellence.
• Proven technical capability in designing and developing complex technology solutions.
• Experience with electronics hardware design, schematic capture, PCB layout, signal integrity, stack-up design, board bring-up, testing, and documentation.
• Experience with low-level protocols such as SPI, I2C, Ethernet, or Modbus.
• Experience in one or more of FPGA firmware, DSP, signal processing, high-speed electronics, RF/Microwave design, embedded software, or communications and networking.
• Must be eligible for UK Security Clearance. This role is not eligible for UKVI visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience with Altium, C, C#, C++, MATLAB, Python, or Simulink.
• Experience collaborating on system architecture, interfaces, and hardware design or procurement.
