Weld Apprentice

Location: West Jordan, Utah, United States; onsite

Pay: $18 per hour

What you will do

• Participate in a structured training program to develop welding skills and technical knowledge.
• Perform welds according to drawings and work instructions, then clean, grind, inspect, and repair them as needed.
• Complete inspection and production records accurately and submit them to the supervisor.
• Maintain current welding machine calibration stickers and follow established company procedures.
• Keep the workplace clean and apply FEM and LEAN manufacturing principles.
• Report unsafe equipment, lock it out until repaired, follow safety procedures, and use flame-cutting equipment when instructed.

Requirements

• Must pass a horizontal and vertical multi-pass fillet weld test using the flux-cored arc process within 30 days of employment. Training is provided.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
• Ability to read blueprints is preferred.
• Mandatory use of welding and personal protective equipment, including a welding helmet, hearing protection, safety shoes, safety glasses, welding gloves, and flame-retardant clothing.
