Pipefitter Apprentice III (HVAC)

What you will do

• Assist senior pipe fitters with installing and repairing commercial HVAC piping systems.
• Install carbon steel, copper, chill-water, hot-water, and steam piping under supervision and in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
• Perform TIG, flux, and stick pipe welding and assist with the installation of boilers, chillers, and pumps.
• Read blueprints, drawings, and schematics for HVAC systems and piping layouts.
• Operate, maintain, and properly store hand tools, power tools, and other equipment.
• Follow job-site safety protocols, collaborate with other trades, and meet project timelines and quality requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience as a Pipe Fitter Apprentice and at least 2 years of pipe fitting and/or pipe welding experience in commercial HVAC construction.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC systems, piping components, and piping mathematics.
• Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and drawings and familiarity with hand and power tools.
• Ability to TIG, flux, and stick weld and pass vertical overhead, flux core, and MIG weld tests.
• Valid driver’s license, ability to lift 25–50 pounds, regular attendance, and ability to pass background, drug, and pre-employment fitness tests.
