Focus on directing multidisciplinary teams, managing project budgets, coordinating vendors and clients, and overseeing commissioning, startup, and field implementation.

Location: Columbus, Ohio, St. Louis, or Kansas City, USA; onsite full-time role.

What you will do

  • Plan and direct process utilities discipline work and manage budgets for large, complex projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers on proposals, labor-hour planning, scheduling, and discipline scope.
  • Coordinate with clients, internal teams, external partners, vendors, and trade partners.
  • Review design calculations and documentation to ensure technical accuracy and quality.
  • Direct and mentor engineering and design staff and deliver discipline-specific training.
  • Lead utility room layouts, pipe routing, capacity planning, vendor packages, risk assessments, 3D model reviews, site walkdowns, field reporting, commissioning, and startup.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • 10+ years of experience for the Lead Engineer level or 15+ years for the Senior Engineer level.
  • Experience with design firms, operating companies, or construction in the relevant market sector.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards, regulatory guidance, and local building codes.
  • Proven leadership, communication, project coordination, and technical management skills.

Nice to have

  • Professional Engineering license.
  • Experience with life sciences facilities, equipment, and systems.
  • Established network with clients, vendors, and trade partners.
  • Experience leading large or complex projects and coordinating cross-discipline teams.
