What you will do

• Perform independent design assurance reviews of mechanical engineering deliverables from the Engineer of Record and major equipment suppliers for utility-scale CCGT projects.
• Review mechanical drawings, P&IDs, equipment specifications, calculations, layouts, piping designs, vendor documentation, and technical bid evaluations for completeness, consistency, constructability, operability, and compliance.
• Provide technical oversight of gas turbines, HRSGs, steam turbine systems, condensate and feedwater systems, cooling systems, fuel gas, water treatment, fire protection, and other balance-of-plant systems.
• Evaluate interfaces and battery limits between OEM equipment, EoR systems, balance-of-plant packages, and construction work packages.
• Review RFIs, technical queries, design deviations, change notices, NCRs, quality observations, and field issues, providing recommendations on technical acceptability and mitigation.
• Support constructability reviews, field walkdowns, management of change, system turnover, commissioning, startup, performance testing, and multidisciplinary issue resolution.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
• 8+ years of mechanical engineering experience on large capital projects in power generation or process industries.
• Experience reviewing mechanical designs for large, complex industrial facilities across engineering, procurement, construction, and/or commissioning phases.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment, piping systems, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, valves, piping materials, and balance-of-plant systems.
• Working knowledge of ASME, API, NFPA, ANSI, and other applicable engineering codes and standards.
• Ability to perform field walkdowns across active construction areas and comply with PPE and site safety requirements.

Nice to have

• Direct experience with utility-scale CCGT or simple-cycle gas generation projects.
• Owner’s Engineer, Owner’s Representative, EPCM, or independent design assurance experience.
• Experience managing technical interfaces across OEMs, EPC contractors, construction contractors, and owner teams.
• PE license or EIT certification.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam, Autodesk/AutoCAD, Navisworks, BIM/3D model review tools, Procore, or equivalent platforms.
