Industrial Services & Emergency Response Technician (Hazmat)

Location: Long Beach, California, USA; onsite, full time

Pay range: $20.30–$27.87 per hour, depending on the hiring locality.

What you will do

• Perform emergency response and hazardous and non-hazardous spill cleanup.
• Carry out Hazmat decontamination, tank cleaning, oil spill cleanup, drum handling, sweeping, shoveling, and high-pressure washing.
• Enter confined spaces, including manholes, and perform other remedial field activities.
• Operate roll-off, vacuum, and box trucks, skid steers, forklifts, pumps, and pallet jacks.
• Respond to customer spills and emergencies during and outside normal business hours.
• Complete DOT vehicle inspections, maintain vehicle logs, and keep equipment and work sites clean and maintained.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license.
• DOT-qualified or able to become DOT-qualified to drive non-CDL vehicles weighing 10,000–26,000 pounds.
• Ability to pass 40-hour HAZWOPER training upon hire.
• Ability to use heavy and light equipment, hand tools, shop tools, and related instruments.
• Accuracy, thoroughness, attention to detail, prioritization, and ability to manage diverse responsibilities.

Nice to have

• Current 40-hour HAZWOPER training.
• Experience operating forklifts and pallet jacks.
