Recycle Technician

Location: Wilmington, NC, United States; onsite

Salary: $17–$18 per hour

What you will do

• Collect, salvage, inspect, and sort reusable, recyclable, and waste materials.
• Maintain docks, collection areas, multiple containers, logs, and schedules.
• Support the shift lead with punch-list items and complete assigned work safely.
• Follow company procedures, safety rules, personal protective equipment requirements, and task instructions.
• Communicate professionally with leads, supervisors, coworkers, managers, and customers.
• Keep work areas and cleaning equipment clean and properly maintained.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; 1–2 years of recycling experience in a company environment or equivalent training and experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift or move up to 35 pounds and perform repetitive tasks.
• Completion of required safety and task training certifications.

Nice to have

• CPR, AED, and First Aid certification.
• Forklift certification.
• Hazardous Waste Handling Training under RCRA.
• Bilingual communication skills.
