Associate Director, Commercial AI Tech Lead (AI)

Location: Remote for US-based candidates; Philadelphia, PA

Base salary: $153,600–$230,400 per year, plus potential bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Apply data science and AI expertise to commercial use cases including forecasting, targeting, segmentation, personalization, omnichannel engagement, and commercial optimization.
• Provide technical guidance on generative AI applications for field, marketing, and operations teams, including pre-call planning, content generation, research, summarization, and search.
• Evaluate LLM strategies, solution architectures, model designs, data requirements, validation, explainability, monitoring, scalability, and operational readiness.
• Assess build-versus-buy options and conduct technical due diligence of third-party vendor solutions.
• Prioritize AI initiatives, define success metrics, design pilots and MVPs, and identify opportunities to reuse and scale capabilities across brands and markets.
• Partner with Commercial, Data Engineering, Architecture, Security, Privacy, and Compliance teams to deliver secure, scalable, governed AI solutions.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of machine learning techniques, model evaluation, and real-world deployment considerations.
• Experience evaluating third-party AI solutions against internally developed approaches.
• Experience working in regulated environments with privacy, compliance, explainability, bias assessment, and documentation requirements.
• Experience with commercial data sources such as CRM, claims, promotional, and digital engagement data.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to influence without formal authority in a matrixed enterprise.
• Must be a US-based candidate. Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, a quantitative social science, or a related quantitative field is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
