Loan Workout Special Assets Officer - Commercial Real Estate (Finance)

Location: New York, NY 10018; full-time, onsite role.

Pay range: $102,717–$158,469 annually.

What you will do

• Manage a portfolio of classified commercial real estate and multifamily loans from assessment through resolution.
• Prepare credit approval memoranda, financial analyses, relationship overviews, collateral assessments, risk evaluations, and recommendations.
• Identify emerging credit risks and implement corrective actions to reduce defaults, non-accrual loans, and impairments.
• Develop and execute workout strategies, negotiate with borrowers, guarantors, and third parties, and pursue maximum recovery.
• Monitor borrower performance, loan covenants, reporting requirements, and agreed action plans.
• Support amendments, restructurings, litigation, quarterly reserve analysis, charge-off calculations, and credit-cost forecasting.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 6 years of experience in Workout or Special Assets, preferably at an OCC-regulated institution.
• Strong knowledge of real estate documentation, policies, procedures, and related lending laws.
• Strong financial analysis, organizational, communication, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
• Familiarity with loan databases and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to work independently, collaborate effectively, and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
