TL;DR
Senior RF Engineer II (Aerospace): Designing and delivering high-reliability RF, mixed-signal, and digital hardware for electronically steered antenna communication systems with an accent on full-stack board development, PCB layout, signal integrity, and power integrity. Focus on developing complex hardware modules from requirements through production, performing verification and environmental testing, and leading small engineering teams.

What you will do

  • Design and develop RF, mixed-signal, and digital hardware for electronically steered antenna communication systems.
  • Develop RF front-end, power distribution, control, and interface circuitry for phased-array communication terminals.
  • Own hardware modules and subsystems from requirements, trade studies, schematic capture, and PCB layout through integration, verification, production release, and deployment.
  • Perform signal integrity, power integrity, thermal, reliability, and worst-case circuit analyses.
  • Execute hardware bring-up, debugging, RF characterization, environmental qualification, compliance testing, and root-cause investigations.
  • Support design reviews, customer evaluations, manufacturing transfer, field trials, and technical leadership of small hardware engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • At least 6 years of relevant experience in board-level electronics design, analysis, and testing.
  • Experience designing high-reliability electronics for space or defense applications, including part derating, worst-case analysis, and thermal constraints.
  • Expertise in PCB layout, including HDI stack-up design and high-speed routing, with expert-level proficiency in Altium.
  • Experience with board-level signal integrity or power integrity simulation tools such as Ansys SIwave, ADS SIPro, or Mentor HyperLynx.
  • Extensive laboratory experience with hardware bring-up and verification, plus strong written and spoken communication skills.

  • Experience leading small teams developing multi-module assemblies.
  • Knowledge of hardware design for space radiation environments.
