PCB Design Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: San Francisco, CA; hybrid work with three days per week in the San Francisco office

Salary: $144,500–$180,600 USD per year, with potential short-term and long-term incentives, bonus, and equity.

hirify.global designs, builds, and operates a large constellation of imaging satellites and delivers satellite data through a cloud-based platform for commercial, environmental, and humanitarian applications.

What you will do

• Design RF, microwave, power, microprocessor, high-speed interface, and mixed-signal PCB layouts for satellite and ground-support applications.
• Work with electrical design engineers to translate system requirements into reliable PCB and PCBA designs.
• Manage PCB designs in Altium and integrate them with configuration control, inventory, and manufacturing systems.
• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to deliver high-quality PCB assemblies on schedule and in accordance with IPC standards.
• Generate fabrication and assembly packages, drawings, templates, component footprints, and schematic symbols.
• Select PCB materials and fabrication processes while managing the Altium parts library.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in PCB layout design.
• Professional experience with Altium Designer.
• Experience implementing and enforcing IPC standards for PCB design, fabrication, and assembly.
• Ability to work from the San Francisco office three days per week in a hybrid arrangement.
• Ability to access applicable export-controlled information without requiring additional export licensing under EAR/ITAR requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with Design for Manufacturing, Design for Test, and design rule checks.
• Experience addressing vendor quality issues and driving corrective actions.
• Experience with high-density, flex, rigid-flex, and RF-material PCB designs.
