TL;DR
Electronics Engineering (Quantum Computing) (Analogue/Digital/Embedded): Designing, building, and testing large-scale electronics control systems for quantum computers with an accent on PCB design, FPGA integration, signal integrity, and verification. What you will do

  • Take responsibility for the hardware system design and realisation of complex, large-scale electronics control systems.
  • Design, build, test, and verify analogue and digital electronic products using CAD tools and laboratory test equipment.
  • Document circuit designs and verification tests, while maintaining rigorous engineering records.
  • Build control systems for quantum computers and develop an understanding of their firmware and software.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers, software engineers, and physicists on proof-of-concept and feasibility work.
  • Support project planning, scheduling, risk management, supplier coordination, and progress reporting.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of professional experience in high-performance electronics design across digital, analogue, and embedded systems.
  • Experience designing PCBs with ECAD tools such as Altium, including schematic capture, layout, manufacturing processes, and verification.
  • Strong knowledge of electronics circuit theory, EM field theory, noise analysis, and physical devices.
  • Experience using spectrum analysers, oscilloscopes, and VNAs, as well as designing and applying wire harnesses.
  • Experience with FPGAs, HDL, embedded software engineering for real-time systems, and digital system integration.
  • At least a 2.1 BEng/BSc degree in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline, plus strong documentation, communication, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

  • Background in RF engineering, research, metrology, or instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of signal integrity, high-speed digital design, and EMC.
  • Experience with C, Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW.
  • Team or project management experience and a pragmatic approach to engineering decisions.
