Principal Project Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Westminster, Colorado, United States; on-site. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, conditional residents, asylees, refugees, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

Salary: $158,000–$189,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead project engineering through all phases of external customer and internally driven development projects.
• Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, risks, and regular reports for program and company leadership.
• Coordinate activities across engineering and other functions, escalating issues and supporting resource planning.
• Present engineering design reviews and project status reports to customers and executive leadership.
• Support proposal-writing efforts and drive complex aerospace programs toward successful delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical, computer, mechanical, aerospace, systems engineering, or computer science.
• At least 9 years of relevant engineering or project experience.
• Proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project and Jira.
• Technical familiarity with electrical, mechanical, software, and systems-of-systems architectures.
• Thorough knowledge of aerospace systems engineering processes from concept through production, including the space system lifecycle.
• Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Satellite and subsystem development experience.
• Familiarity with communications systems and RF systems engineering.
• Experience in startup environments and established-company project management.
• Experience with research and development, new product development, and government or commercial customer projects.
