TL;DR
Controls ATE Programmer I (SMT): Developing, testing, and maintaining automated test programs for SMT and through-hole circuit boards with an accent on component-level testing, AOI programming, and production equipment troubleshooting. Focus on debugging software from manual to automated modes, profiling reflow ovens, supporting JUKI equipment, and minimizing manufacturing downtime.

The position supports electronics testing, automated equipment programming, and manufacturing operations.
What you will do
- Develop tolerance, measurement, and inspection programs for SMT and through-hole boards on ATE and AOI equipment.
- Write, test, modify, and maintain automated test programs for new equipment.
- Create component profiles, maintain SMT test assembly folders, and manage stencil inventory.
- Debug software and help transition testing from manual to automated modes.
- Troubleshoot JUKI pick-and-place and printing machines, reflow ovens, SMT equipment, and through-hole boards.
- Provide technical support to machine operators and collaborate with production operators, engineers, design staff, and management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; a technical degree or certificate is preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in electronic testing, troubleshooting, repair, basic programming, bench test equipment maintenance, and SMT equipment troubleshooting.
- Understanding of IPC-A-610 workmanship standards.
- Ability to read bills of materials and assembly drawings, build assembly fixtures from instructions, and use MS Office.
- Good communication and mechanical skills.
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 30 lb and perform standing, bending, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive tasks for extended periods.
Nice to have
- Experience as an SMT and through-hole Test Technician.
- VIVA programming software experience.
- AOI programming experience.
- Experience with ERP systems.
