Electronics Assembly Technician II (Aerospace): Building, repairing, and maintaining SMT circuit cards and final electronics assemblies for satellites, spacecraft, and aerospace systems with an accent on high-reliability assembly, soldering, inspection, and quality control. Focus on interpreting schematics, implementing designs with engineering teams, maintaining ESD and FOD-controlled workspaces, and supporting inventory and production operations.

Location: Austin, Texas, United States; on-site. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, conditional residents, asylees, refugees, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

What you will do

  • Build, repair, and maintain SMT circuit cards and final electronics assemblies.
  • Perform electronics assembly operations including component preparation, AOI, X-ray inspection, de-paneling, and soldering.
  • Interpret schematics, drawings, diagrams, and parts lists to assemble products correctly.
  • Communicate with engineers and design staff to ensure designs are implemented accurately.
  • Maintain clean ESD- and FOD-controlled workspaces and follow strict safety guidelines.
  • Support inventory cycle counts, preventive maintenance, supply ordering, and shipping and receiving as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least two years of experience in electronic assembly operations.
  • Experience using tools to make or repair parts and products.
  • Ability to read schematics, drawings, diagrams, and parts lists.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, basic computer skills, and the ability to distinguish wire colors.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, communicate with production and engineering staff, and follow safety procedures.

Nice to have

  • Experience in aerospace, automotive, medical-device, or other high-reliability industries.
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance and inventory management.
