Tool Room Supervisor (Progressive Dies)

Location: Carpentersville, Illinois, United States; full-time onsite role with mandatory overtime or non-standard and extended schedules as needed.

Salary: $45.00–$65.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.

What you will do

• Supervise die design, maintenance, fabrication, repairs, and troubleshooting for progressive metal stamping operations.
• Coordinate with the pressroom on production schedules, die tryouts, die changeovers, and press setups.
• Build and maintain small- to large-scale progressive dies and ensure tooling performance.
• Train tool and die apprentices through the company apprentice program.
• Maintain tooling and preventive-maintenance records, order tool room supplies, and maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Support quality control, piece-part inspection, manufacturability reviews, and tooling cost estimates.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of tool and die experience, including stamping production experience.
• At least 3 years of supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of progressive die design, tool steels, stamping materials, and tool room equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints, use inspection equipment, understand SPC, and inspect parts against quality specifications.
• Ability to lift and move 50 pounds with assistance as necessary.
• Availability for mandatory overtime and non-standard or extended work schedules.
