Machinist

Location: Milwaukee, WI, USA; onsite night shift, 6:00 PM–6:00 AM, on a 3/4/4/3 schedule

Wage: $39.19 per hour plus a $1.00 per hour night-shift differential

What you will do

• Follow plant and corporate safety practices, maintain a secure work environment, and participate in safety inspections and accident investigations.
• Support the Safe Quality Food system, environmental regulations, standard operating procedures, and the Global Code of Conduct.
• Review blueprints and work orders, create part drawings or sketches, and calculate dimensions, tapers, indices, and tolerances.
• Select, grind, and adjust cutting tools, speeds, and feed rates for efficient precision machining.
• Set up and operate lathes, grinders, mills, hones, and other machine tools.
• Dismantle, fit, assemble, repair, and maintain production equipment and assigned machines; assist with tooling inspection and train assigned personnel.

Requirements

• Two years of job-related experience.
• Working knowledge of machine-shop and tool-and-die practices, metallurgy, and equipment terminology.
• Ability to read blueprints and demonstrate tool-and-die skills.
• Ability to apply basic math, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
• Ability to use a computer and follow required safety practices, including wearing protective equipment.
• High school education, GED, or equivalent related work experience.
