Senior Facilities Technician

Location: San Antonio, TX, USA; reports to assigned campuses or schools five days a week

What you will do

• Maintain campus building systems, including HVAC, elevators, burglar and fire alarms, irrigation, and mechanical and electrical systems.
• Manage buildings and grounds across carpentry, painting, pest control, lawn care, plumbing, and electrical work.
• Execute work orders, coordinate campus events, lead preventive maintenance, and conduct inspections.
• Respond to facility emergencies during and outside operating hours with 24/7 on-call availability.
• Manage contractors, vendors, schedules, work quality, procurement, and the campus facilities maintenance budget.
• Supervise Maintenance Technicians, including recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and termination decisions.

Requirements

• At least five years of facilities maintenance or related trade experience and a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Required expertise in HVAC, electrical, and/or plumbing systems, along with building systems and repair operations.
• Reliable transportation and the ability to travel between campuses and regional offices.
• Flexibility to work with frequent interruptions and maintain emotional control under stress.
• Strong technical, supervisory, organizational, communication, problem-solving, and contractor management skills.

Nice to have

• Trade licensure or certification.
• Experience as a supervisor or lead technician.
• Facilities work order management software experience.
• Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills.
• Basic Microsoft Outlook proficiency.
