Project Engineer - Controls

Location: Carpentersville, Illinois, United States; full-time onsite

Target base salary: $80,000–$105,000 per year, based on qualifications and experience.

What you will do

• Manage product development projects from concept through production.
• Develop product requirements, schedules, milestones, and project plans with cross-functional teams.
• Coordinate engineering, sourcing, manufacturing, production, suppliers, customers, and other partners.
• Track project schedules, budgets, NRE hours, tooling, part costs, and testing costs.
• Manage BOMs, engineering change notices, project documentation, and phase-gate deliverables.
• Lead weekly project meetings and present monthly schedule, cost, and issue reviews to senior management.

Requirements

• BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or General Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of project management experience.
• Previous hands-on engineering experience from concept through production.
• Experience with Microsoft Project or an equivalent project management tool.
• Strong problem-solving, multitasking, planning, communication, negotiation, and follow-up skills.
• Ability to achieve results and coordinate engineers without direct reporting authority in a fast-paced environment.
