Project Manager, R&D (Medical Devices)

Location: On-site in Chelmsford, Massachusetts; applicants must reside within a reasonable commuting distance. Relocation is not offered.

Salary: $108,100–$130,000 annual salary, plus eligibility for an annual bonus.

What you will do

• Lead assigned new product development, product line extension, and sustaining engineering programs.
• Coordinate and motivate cross-functional teams to deliver projects within objectives, schedules, and funding parameters.
• Balance electrical, mechanical, and software development issues at the system level.
• Develop project work plans and schedules, and manage product requirements and traceability.
• Lead design reviews, risk management, problem solving, mitigation planning, and project documentation.
• Manage technical partners and vendors, and facilitate project meetings and management presentations.

Requirements

• BS degree in Engineering; an advanced degree is preferred.
• 5+ years of experience as an engineer developing products, preferably medical devices.
• Knowledge of medical device Design Controls, Risk Management, Electrical Safety, and global standards and regulations.
• Understanding of electrical, mechanical, and software engineering practices at the system level.
• Experience managing multiple projects with different levels of complexity within defined timelines and budgets.

Nice to have

• PMP certification.
• Experience working within a phase-gate development process.
