Project Engineer / Assistant PM

Location: Onsite in San Jose, California, within the San Francisco Bay Area

Salary: $135,000–$176,000 annually

What you will do

• Support Senior Project Managers with planning, execution, coordination, and closeout of complex CAPx construction projects.
• Coordinate owners, design teams, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and internal project teams.
• Monitor construction activities, review work plans and project documentation, and support field issue resolution.
• Maintain schedules, track milestones and risks, and assist with budgeting, forecasting, payment applications, and change management.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning, punch walks, and project turnover.
• Support project reporting, stakeholder communications, quality compliance, and safety activities.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of construction or project management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
• Experience supporting projects from design through construction and commissioning.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, sequencing, scheduling, cost control, and project documentation.
• Ability to interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and specialty system drawings.
• Strong communication, organization, prioritization, and attention-to-detail skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Nice to have

• Experience with complex commercial, industrial, life sciences, pharmaceutical, R&D, advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, robotics, or high-tech facilities.
• Experience with Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms.
