What you will do

• Provide proactive, student-centered mentoring, advising, tutoring, and academic coaching throughout the BSN program.
• Assess learning styles, strengths, and academic challenges, then create individualized support and Next Generation NCLEX readiness plans.
• Support students through workshops, outreach, accountability, and progress documentation in collaboration with academic leadership.
• Coordinate virtual lab experiences and provide instruction, technical nursing skills practice, remediation, and skills validation as needed.
• Manage outreach to at-risk students, including referrals, reinstatements, and repeaters, while reporting retention outcomes and metrics.
• Maintain virtual availability for student needs, including evenings and/or weekends when required.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Nursing.
• At least 5 years of clinical practice experience as a Registered Nurse.
• At least 2 years of experience in an academic environment, classroom support, or specialized tutoring/support.
• Current, unencumbered Illinois RN license and compact RN license.
• BLS CPR certification and credentials appropriate for teaching and assessing learning in a virtual classroom.
• Experience with Canvas LMS, strong communication and analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Nice to have

• At least 1 year of online teaching, tutoring, or coaching experience in a prelicensure nursing program.
• Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) certification.
