Patient Care Technician Program Director

Location: Onsite in Clearwater and Tampa, Florida, United States; may include a flexible remote schedule for online or virtual instruction. Evening and weekend availability may be required.

Salary: $90,000–$95,000 USD annually, based on experience and qualifications.

What you will do

• Design, implement, evaluate, and continuously improve the patient care technician program.
• Develop curriculum aligned with current healthcare industry standards and educational best practices.
• Recruit, train, supervise, coach, and develop faculty and team members.
• Advise and support students in their academic and professional development.
• Manage accreditation, regulatory compliance, program assessment, and continuous improvement activities.
• Build healthcare industry partnerships, manage the program budget, and support graduate career preparation.

Requirements

• Master’s degree, or a bachelor’s degree combined with equivalent experience, in healthcare or a related field.
• Administrative or supervisory experience leading teams in academic or social services delivery.
• 15 semester credit hours in the subject field for Healthcare Instructor responsibilities and academic preparation in the courses taught.
• At least 3 years of experience in a hospital or long-term care facility.
• Active LPN, RN, PCT, CPT, EMT, or Paramedic certification is required and must be maintained according to state and accrediting requirements.
• At least 2 years of experience in proprietary adult education, including student advising, evaluation, and classroom instruction, preferred.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in healthcare or a related field.
• Three or more years of administrative or supervisory experience in academic or social services delivery.
• Online teaching experience at an accredited post-secondary institution and experience in online education or proprietary industry.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, learning management systems, emerging education technologies, strategic program planning, and market analysis.
