EH&S Process Specialist

Location: Brampton, Ontario, Canada; on-site with regular visits to industrial sites across Canada

Salary: $70,000–$80,000 per year, based on experience

What you will do

• Design, implement, and continuously improve environmental, health, and safety management programs, policies, and procedures.
• Partner with process and manufacturing engineers to integrate safety controls into process designs, equipment modifications, and capital projects.
• Assess and mitigate hazards in machining, casting, assembly, fluid systems, welding, and material handling operations.
• Lead ergonomic assessments, risk assessments, incident investigations, inspections, audits, and corrective-action follow-up.
• Develop engineering controls including machine guarding, ventilation, interlocks, and energy-isolation devices.
• Develop digital work instructions, ISO management-system documentation, and EHS training for employees.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, environmental engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.
• At least 3 years of progressive EHS experience in manufacturing, heavy industry, or a process engineering environment.
• Experience with Process Safety Management, process hazard analysis, or management of change programs.
• Experience leading incident investigations and closing corrective actions at a systemic level.
• Strong understanding of ergonomic risk factors, risk assessment methods, EHS management software, and training delivery.
• Ability to work on-site in Brampton and travel occasionally to company locations across Canada; inspections involve standing, walking, climbing, and exposure to varying environmental conditions.

Nice to have

• Graduate coursework or a degree in EHS, industrial hygiene, or process safety.
• Practical familiarity with industrial manufacturing processes such as machining, casting, welding, or fluid power systems.
• Familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
