TL;DR
Health & Safety Business Partner (EHS/Chemical Distribution): Advancing health and safety programs across three operating sites with an accent on regulatory compliance, risk management, audits, and emergency preparedness. Focus on leading incident investigations, delivering safety training, supporting ERAP activities, and driving corrective actions and continuous improvement.

Location: Primarily based onsite in Abbotsford, British Columbia, with responsibility for Abbotsford, Pitt Meadows, and North Vancouver

Annual salary: CAD 100,000–130,000

What you will do

  • Partner with regional leaders, site leadership, Joint Health & Safety Committees, and employees to strengthen safety culture.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local occupational health and safety regulations and company standards.
  • Lead EHS risk assessments, management systems, certification programs, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage emergency preparedness, emergency response planning, and ERAP activities as the regional technical advisor.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action planning.
  • Deliver health and safety training, including new hire orientation, TDG, WHMIS, and other regulatory programs.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of health and safety leadership experience supporting multiple locations, preferably in chemical, industrial, manufacturing, logistics, or related sectors.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation, regulatory compliance, and industry best practices.
  • Experience leading audits, investigations, training programs, and compliance initiatives.
  • Strong communication, coaching, relationship-building, and collaborative leadership skills.

Nice to have

  • Professional certification such as CRSP or CSP.
