12 Month Contract - EH&S Engineer III

Location: Fully onsite in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada

What you will do

• Lead strategic planning, administration, and continuous improvement of the site’s environmental, health, and safety programs.
• Maintain compliance with local and global regulations, including ISO 14001:2015, EU REACH, RoHS, permits, and applicable corporate requirements.
• Develop and deliver EH&S training, maintain the training matrix, and promote a safe and healthy workplace culture.
• Lead incident investigations, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, safety observations, inspections, ergonomics assessments, and job hazard analyses.
• Manage emergency response programs, hazardous materials and waste inventories, prevention programs, and related equipment and procedures.
• Lead the Joint Health and Safety Committee, support workers’ compensation cases, and coordinate internal, customer, registrar, and regulatory audits.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as an Environment, Health & Safety specialist or engineer.
• Bachelor’s degree specializing in Health & Safety and Environment, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• Working knowledge of ISO 14001:2015 is required.
• Ability to conduct ergonomics assessments and manage EH&S compliance programs.
• Strong communication, stakeholder-management, relationship-building, and independent working skills.
• Ability to work fully onsite at the Mississauga, Ontario site.

Nice to have

• Certified Lead Auditor qualification for ISO 14001:2015.
• Working knowledge of OHSAS 18001.
