Salary: $90,000–$140,000 per year ($43–$67 per hour)

What you will do

  • Administer construction contracts from notice to proceed through final closeout and maintain complete official contract records.
  • Prepare and route contractual correspondence, notices, determinations, change orders, and requests for equitable adjustment.
  • Analyze and negotiate contractor claims involving delay, disruption, differing site conditions, acceleration, suspension, and loss of productivity.
  • Coordinate with scheduling staff on time-impact analyses and time-extension requests, and prepare cost estimates and quantity takeoffs.
  • Track payment applications, progress payments, retention, contingency drawdown, and contract value reconciliation.
  • Prepare claim position papers and recommendations, advise project teams on contract interpretation and risk allocation, and support dispute resolution and closeout activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in contract administration, change order management, and claims analysis on large, complex heavy-civil infrastructure projects valued above $500 million.
  • Working knowledge of construction contract documents and public-agency contracting requirements across design-bid-build, CM/GC, design-build, and progressive design-build delivery methods.
  • Experience administering and negotiating complex civil works contracts as an owner’s representative or in a role protecting client interests.
  • Ability to interpret design documents, schedules, cost reports, and commercial terms to develop entitlement narratives and quantum analyses.
  • Proficiency with project-management software such as Primavera P6 or MS Project and Microsoft Office 365.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in construction management, engineering, or business administration.
  • CPCM or CFCM certification through the National Contract Management Association.
  • CCM, PMP, PE, or AIA credentials.
  • Experience with schedule and delay analysis tools, enterprise contract and document management systems, or dashboard and KPI reporting software.
