Principal Engineer - Transport

Location: Chicago, Illinois, USA; some travel is required for site meetings and investigations.

Salary: $150,000–$225,000 per year

What you will do

• Conduct field investigations, forensic investigations, engineering analyses, and structural design.
• Support litigation matters and provide expert witness services.
• Collaborate with clients and design and construction professionals.
• Perform business development activities and build a book of business.
• Support the growth of the Chicago office across transportation and related engineering sectors.

Requirements

• 10–25 years of design and field experience.
• Bachelor’s degree required; a Master of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering is preferred.
• Professional licensure or registration in the state of Illinois is required.
• Experience with AutoCAD and computer-aided structural analysis and design.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel for site meetings and investigations.

Nice to have

• Experience with BIM software.
• Experience in infrastructure, transportation, geotechnical engineering, mechanical and electrical engineering, or structural dynamics.
• An existing book of work and client relationships.
