HVACR Service Technician

Location: Roanoke, Virginia, United States; onsite field service work

Pay: $30–$40 per hour, depending on experience

What you will do

• Maintain and troubleshoot commercial HVAC equipment.
• Diagnose breakdowns, test components with appropriate instruments, and replace defective parts.
• Disassemble, assemble, and repair equipment and associated components.
• Service split systems, rooftop units, heat pumps, DX systems, and complex heating and cooling systems.
• Troubleshoot and maintain HVAC control systems while maintaining a strong customer-service focus.
• Follow safety procedures and respond to on-call service needs.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of commercial HVACR experience.
• Ability to work 10-hour days, overtime, and on-call shifts when necessary.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in extreme heat, cold, and bad weather.
• Ability to stand and walk throughout the workday, lift and carry up to 60 pounds, and work in confined spaces.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, background check, physical examination, and motor vehicle record check.
• Ability to work reliably and maintain a drug-free workplace.

Nice to have

• EPA Universal certification.
• OSHA 10 certification.
• Military veteran experience.
