Bindery Operator 2 (Print Finishing)

Location: Columbia, South Carolina, United States; onsite, 12-hour rotating shift

Salary: $20.23–$26.83 per hour, with potential overtime, shift differential, call-in, and standby pay.

What you will do

• Set up, adjust, and operate auxiliary binding and finishing machines, including folders, cutters, collators, stitchers, drills, and gluing equipment.
• Operate automatic bindery systems with multiple electromechanically connected functions and stations.
• Operate and adjust perfect binders for vibrating, milling, roughening, gluing, covering, and stacking finished products.
• Coordinate multiple machine workstations to maintain production accuracy and output.
• Direct the crew through production activities and monitor quality, productivity, and completed work.
• Inspect equipment for safety issues and maintain proper operating conditions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and at least two years of relevant experience.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders and bindery specifications, select appropriate equipment, and maintain dimensional accuracy.
• Experience with complex bindery machines, including perfect binders, multi-station collators, and folding units.
• Skill in using standard and specialized tools to set up, adjust, and maintain bindery equipment.
• Knowledge of coated and uncoated paper stocks and their folding, cutting, collating, and machining requirements.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift or push up to 50 pounds; successful background check and drug screen required.
