What you will do

  • Lead automation projects from concept through implementation and long-term support.
  • Develop automation roadmaps for CNC lathes, mills, secondary operations, and material handling.
  • Design and implement robotic machine tending, automated loading and unloading, conveyor, palletization, and part-handling systems.
  • Optimize cycle times, spindle utilization, machining capacity, labor efficiency, and manufacturing costs.
  • Troubleshoot robotic, electrical, pneumatic, and control-system issues and provide technical support for existing systems.
  • Develop preventive maintenance strategies, safety assessments, safeguarding solutions, standard operating procedures, and operator training materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics, automation engineering, or a related field; equivalent industry experience may be considered.
  • 3–5+ years of automation engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience implementing robotic machine tending and manufacturing automation projects.
  • Knowledge of CNC machine operation and machining processes.
  • Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar.
  • Ability to ensure compliance with OSHA, ANSI, and company safety standards.

Nice to have

  • Experience supporting CNC machining operations.
  • Experience programming industrial robots such as Fanuc, ABB, Universal Robots, KUKA, or similar.
