Location: Onsite in Long Beach, California, United States. Full-time second-shift schedule from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, with possible overtime or weekend work for critical production milestones. The hired person must be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing.
Salary: $96,760–$137,352 USD annually in California.

What you will do
- Coordinate, prioritize, and communicate daily electro-mechanical and electronics assembly assignments for the second-shift technician team.
- Lead, mentor, and train technicians in electronics assembly, soldering workmanship, and IPC J-STD-001 requirements.
- Support through-hole and surface-mount soldering, PCB assembly, wire termination, connector assembly, conformal coating, and electro-mechanical integration.
- Optimize manufacturing processes based on cycle time, yield, quality, and cost while maintaining IPC J-STD-001 Class 2 and Class 3 compliance.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams on design reviews, inspections, solder-joint evaluation, testing, and corrective actions.
- Drive continuous improvement by reducing defects, rework, waste, and production delays while maintaining a clean and ESD-controlled work area.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience in a technical field, preferably electronics or electro-mechanical assembly manufacturing in aerospace or defense.
- At least 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience managing production teams.
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
- Strong knowledge of SMT, through-hole and hand soldering, rework and repair, conformal coating, testing, schematics, technical drawings, BOMs, and work instructions.
- Experience with IPC J-STD-001 standards, ESD control, formal quality systems such as AS9100 or ISO 9001, and manufacturing documentation.
- Must meet U.S. export-control eligibility requirements as a U.S. person or be eligible for deemed export licensing. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted.
Nice to have
- IPC J-STD-001 CIS or CIT certification.
- Experience with IPC-A-610, IPC-7711/7721, IPC-HDBK-001, and J-STD-004/005/006.
- Experience with Altium, Siemens NX, or similar CAD/EDA tools.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen, root-cause analysis, and corrective-action methods.
