TL;DR
Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technician (Aerospace): Building and integrating high-reliability spaceflight electronics, including PCB assemblies, electronic boxes, chassis, and wire harnesses, with an accent on precision hand-soldering, mechanical assembly, and IPC-compliant workmanship. Focus on translating engineering drawings into flight hardware, fabricating avionics wiring, maintaining tight component tolerances, and inspecting complex assemblies under a microscope.

Location: Onsite in Centennial, Colorado, USA. US citizenship is required. Second shift: 2:00–11:30 p.m. Monday–Thursday and 2:00–10:30 p.m. Friday, with alternating Fridays off.

Compensation: $31.15–$44.12 per hour, including an 8% shift differential, depending on qualifications.

What you will do

  • Assemble and integrate high-reliability spaceflight hardware, including PCBs, structural frames, electronic boxes, and mechanical chassis.
  • Perform precision hand-soldering, wire attachment, component staking, masking, and adhesive application under a stereo microscope.
  • Fabricate wire harnesses through crimping and soldering according to engineering drawings and manufacturing travelers.
  • Prepare components and kits, interpret assembly drawings, and use precision tools such as torque wrenches, calipers, fixtures, and bench equipment.
  • Inspect assemblies throughout production, create non-conforming material reviews, and perform root cause analysis when needed.
  • Follow safety, security, 5S, FOD, ESD, PPE, and other production procedures while collaborating to meet manufacturing goals.

Requirements

  • US citizenship required.
  • At least five years of experience in high-precision soldering, electronic box builds, avionics wiring and connector crimping, and mechanical chassis assembly.
  • Active or past IPC J-STD-001 Space Addendum solder certification required, or certification must be obtained within the first 30 days.
  • Proficiency with precision mechanical tools, calibrated torque wrenches, calipers, and hand-soldering equipment used under a microscope for extended periods.
  • Understanding of 5S, FOD, and ESD awareness protocols; ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
