TL;DR
AIT Technician – Vehicle Integration (Aerospace): Assembling and testing electromechanical sub-assemblies for spacecraft vehicle integration with an accent on wire harness routing, avionics, electrical troubleshooting, and quality control. Focus on following detailed assembly instructions, inspecting flight hardware, maintaining cleanroom and ESD standards, and supporting spacecraft integration activities.

Location: Irvine, California, United States; onsite weekday shift, Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM

Salary: $28–$37 USD per hour

What you will do

  • Assemble complex electronic and mechanical modules using detailed procedures, hand tools, torque wrenches, and light power tools.
  • Build and support electromechanical sub-assemblies used in spacecraft vehicle integration.
  • Perform basic avionics and electrical troubleshooting, including wire harness routing and flight hardware integration.
  • Communicate work status, issues, and improvement suggestions to the support engineering team.
  • Update documentation and hardware status through online services while maintaining clean, safe, and organized work areas.
  • Perform lab support activities such as kitting, inventory, organization, and other assigned manufacturing tasks.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on professional technician experience in electromechanical assembly or spacecraft hardware manufacturing.
  • Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions, blueprints, and schematic drawings for assembly and testing of flight products.
  • Knowledge of soldering tools and practices; J-STD-001 certification is preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with cleanroom cleanliness standards, ESD precautions, quality control, and AS-9100 standards.
  • Must be a U.S. Person or lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain required U.S. government export authorizations; security clearance or eligibility may be required.
