Senior Thermal Engineer (Aerospace)

Salary: $133,000–$161,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, analyze, and validate thermal control systems for next-generation aerospace products.
• Own thermal designs from concept development and requirements definition through detailed design, simulation, manufacturing, testing, and qualification.
• Perform electronics, PCBA, box-level, and system-level thermal design and analysis.
• Develop thermal resistance networks, reduced-order thermal models, and analysis automation tools.
• Correlate thermal models with thermal chamber and TVAC test results.
• Present engineering design reviews to customers and upper management and contribute to proposal writing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Thermal, or Aerospace Engineering.
• At least five years of industry experience in thermal or mechanical design and analysis; a master’s degree may count as two years of experience.
• Strong foundation in mechanical engineering and heat transfer, including radiative, conductive, and convective heat transfer.
• Professional experience with ANSYS or Thermal Desktop and MCAD tools such as SolidWorks.
• Experience with thermal control system manufacturing processes and laboratory thermal control systems and fixtures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical reviews and customer-facing work.

Nice to have

• Thermal management experience with phased-array or high-power RF electronics.
• Thermal analysis experience at die, lead-frame, and package levels.
• Experience with Matlab, Python, Mathematica, or other computational scripting languages.
