TL;DR
Fluids Analyst (Aerospace): Building and validating fluid-system prediction models for launch vehicles, propulsion systems, and spacecraft with an accent on pressure-drop, transient, thermal-fluid, CFD, and cryogenic analysis. Focus on correlating models with test and flight data, automating data reduction, defining instrumentation, and investigating fluid-system anomalies.

Location: Greater Seattle Area, on-site. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States under ITAR requirements, including U.S. citizenship or nationality, lawful permanent residence, protected-individual status, or eligibility to obtain the required authorizations.

Salary: $130,000–$190,000 annually

Company

hirify.global is a 2024-founded aerospace startup building satellite infrastructure for orbital power, optical data transmission, and space-based computing.

What you will do

  • Own the lifecycle of fluids prediction, from first-order sizing models to test-anchored models used for flight.
  • Build and maintain 1D fluid-network and transient models for engine and vehicle fluid systems.
  • Perform architecture trade studies, pressure and flow budgeting, thermal-fluid analysis, and CFD of internal-flow components.
  • Define instrumentation and measurement requirements and support component- and system-level test campaigns.
  • Build data pipelines, automate test-data reduction, quantify uncertainty, and correlate models with test and flight data.
  • Investigate anomalies and root causes while communicating assumptions, uncertainty, and conclusions in review-ready documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of fluid-system analysis experience for flight vehicles, propulsion systems, or other high-performance hardware.
  • Strong fundamentals in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, compressible flow, two-phase flow, and transient system behavior.
  • Experience with 1D fluid-network or transient modeling tools such as Flownex, AFT, EASY5, GFSSP, Simulink, or equivalent codes.
  • Hands-on CFD experience with tools such as ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM+, or OpenFOAM, plus Python or MATLAB for model development and automation.
  • Must meet U.S. work-authorization requirements for ITAR-controlled space technology.

Nice to have

  • 10+ years of fluid-system analysis experience and direct rocket-engine, launch-vehicle, or spacecraft propulsion experience.
  • Experience with cryogenic fluids, hot-fire or cold-flow testing, and vehicle fill/drain operations.
  • Knowledge of real-fluid property libraries, uncertainty quantification, statistical calibration, or coupled fluid-structure analysis.
  • Familiarity with aerospace, ASME, SAE, and MIL-spec fluid-system standards.
  • Experience in a fast-moving hardware-focused startup or early-stage program.

Culture & Benefits

  • On-site, hands-on work with frequent involvement in test-bay activities.
  • Equity in hirify.global.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and eligible dependents.
  • 401(k) plan, paid time off, 10 paid holidays, and paid parental leave.
  • Relocation assistance where applicable, plus daily office lunch and a stocked kitchen.
