Senior Fluid Systems Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: On-site in Long Beach, California, United States, working at the factory.

Hiring range: $132,000–$198,000 USD per year, plus salary and equity-based total rewards.

What you will do

• Own the architecture and schematics for a vehicle fluid subsystem, including control schemes, component selection, and sizing.
• Conduct fluid and thermal analyses using analytical methods such as 1D steady-state and fluid-network modeling.
• Lead and participate in system and hardware design and manufacturing reviews.
• Define and support test objectives and campaigns to validate system designs, models, and overall vehicle performance.
• Support integrated vehicle testing and launch operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant field.
• 4+ years of experience working with fluid systems.
• Applied knowledge of system design, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer.
• Experience with fluid or thermal modeling tools for internal compressible and incompressible analysis.
• Proficiency in Python or a similar programming language for scientific computing and automated test or simulation data analysis.

• Experience with launch vehicles and spacecraft.
