TL;DR
Quality Engineering Leader (Machining) (HVACR manufacturing): Supporting machining operations by maintaining automated measurement equipment, analyzing process performance, and coordinating quality activities for new product development with an accent on statistical analysis, quality standards, and lean manufacturing. Focus on identifying root causes of complex problems, improving PPMs and process capability, and directing quality support teams across day and night shifts.

Location: Natchitoches, Louisiana, USA; onsite, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM. Travel of up to 10% may be required.

What you will do

  • Maintain and upgrade complex automated measurement equipment and participate in Tier 3 and Tier 4 Lean daily meetings.
  • Implement and maintain Level 2 and Level 3 quality standards and procedures affecting product quality.
  • Analyze process trends and statistical data to identify improvement opportunities and conduct structured root-cause analysis.
  • Support initiatives improving PPMs, process capability, and cost of quality while tracking internal PPM and scrap metrics.
  • Coordinate quality activities for new product development, customer complaints, containment, and returned-part teardown analysis.
  • Direct day- and night-shift quality support team members who measure and test products and compile quality data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, production, or manufacturing engineering, engineering technology, or at least three years of manufacturing experience in a machining environment.
  • Experience with quality management, quality engineering, or lean manufacturing.
  • Ability to maintain compliance with quality, safety, and housekeeping procedures.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not provided.
  • Ability to work the stated onsite schedule and travel up to 10% for corporate training or meetings.

Nice to have

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
  • ISO 9001 quality system knowledge.
  • Experience operating and programming a CMM.
  • Knowledge of GD&T and international standards.
