Quality Engineer - 3rd Shift

Location: Onsite in Saginaw, Michigan, with full-time reporting required

What you will do

• Implement quality systems and procedures, including operator support tracking, process control plans, product quality standards, PFMEAs, gaging, and inspection processes.
• Support manufacturing-floor operations by responding to gage failures, investigating root causes, initiating containment, and dispositioning out-of-process material.
• Support Manufacturing Quality Readiness Review audits, plant launch operations, GMS, and BIQ principles.
• Act as the Voice of Quality and collaborate with teams and stakeholders outside the work group.
• Coordinate training on part and product quality and provide technical assistance to team members.
• Drive defect prevention, continuous improvement, and quality-related change on the third shift.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of Quality Engineering experience.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical ability for unusual and difficult problems.
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to large groups and different management levels.
• Ability to work the third shift and overtime as needed.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
• Knowledge of GM Quality Systems, GMS, and the Global Quality Manual.
• Manufacturing process and product knowledge.
• Ability to read blueprints, GD&T, math data, gage reports, and other engineering documentation.
• Red X or OpEx training and certifications.
