Quality Engineer (CNC Machining) (Aerospace Manufacturing): Supporting and improving product quality, process control, inspection readiness, and customer compliance in a precision CNC machining environment with an accent on GD&T, FAI/AS9102, RCCA, and regulated aerospace quality systems. What you will do
- Provide technical quality support for CNC turning, milling, deburring, inspection, and secondary machining operations.
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, customer specifications, routers, job plans, and inspection requirements.
- Support first-piece, in-process, final inspection, FAI development and review, CMM, manual gage, special gage, and fixture-related inspection planning.
- Lead or support RCCA investigations for rejects, customer escapes, rework, scrap, repeat defects, and process breakdowns.
- Define containment actions, verify affected inventory and work in progress, support dispositions, and confirm corrective-action effectiveness.
- Support customer quality requests, audits, corrective-action responses, inspection evidence, calibration, traceability, and quality documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related technical field preferred; equivalent hands-on experience may be considered.
- 3β5 years of experience in precision manufacturing, CNC machining, aerospace, or a regulated quality environment preferred.
- Practical knowledge of CNC machining, inspection methods, GD&T, blueprint interpretation, gage usage, material traceability, root cause analysis, corrective action, and regulated quality systems.
- Experience with FAI/AS9102, nonconforming material, inspection planning, CMM or manual inspection methods, calibration, and ERP-based quality records is strongly preferred.
- Strong computer skills and Excel proficiency required; ERP/MRP experience, including JobBOSS/JobBOSSΒ² or similar systems, is preferred.
